Here in Taos, we are particularly challenged with the amount of stray, homeless and unwanted dogs and cats. Spaying and neutering your pets is the only way to ensure that every animal is a loved and wanted one. Spaying and neutering will not damage your pets' personality and will be healthier for them in the long run. Male dogs will be less aggressive and not as prone to roam. Female dogs will not attract male dogs by not having a heat cycle, and be less prone to certain cancers. Male cats will be less likely to spray. Spaying and neutering are relatively safe surgeries (like human surgeries, veterinary surgeries and anesthetic procedures carry a certain amount of risk), and most pets recover very quickly, behaving normally by the next day.
Surgery appointments are usually 2-4 weeks out, and you can be waitlisted for ealier cancellation appointments. We accept Stray Hearts and Four Corners certificates.
